Instructions on how to wire a Combo Switch Outlet so that the Outlet is Constantly Powered
By Mark J. Donovan

In this video, Mark Donovan of HomeAdditionPlus.com, shows how to wire a switch outlet combo circuit so that the outlet is constantly powered on. A combo switch outlet circuit is frequently used in bathrooms and utility rooms. Besides having the switch control both an external appliance and the outlet, the combo switch outlet can be configured so that the switch only controls the external appliance. |
By breaking the brass tab between the two terminal screws on the combo switch outlet, you can effectively wire two independent circuits.
One circuit powers just the switch, and the second circuit constantly powers the outlet.
