A common occurrence with home additions is insufficient heating. Direct vent heating systems can provide supplemental heating to a room addition at a much lower installation cost than increasing the size of the main home heating system and running new pipes or duct work to the addition.<\/p>\n<p>Oil or propane fueled direct vent heating systems are also much less expensive to operate than electric heating systems. In addition, unlike a wood stove or coal stove, they do not require constant nursing to make sure they are loaded with wood and that the chimney is clean from creosote buildup.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>Direct vent heating systems also offer a number of other advantages and features. First, since they are direct vent they do not require a chimney or special construction thus saving on installation and maintenance costs. Second, they are extremely efficient. With direct vent heating systems there are no pilot lights or exposed flames to worry about.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of unique features offered with direct vent heating systems there are quite a few to choose from.
