In the process we damage the walls a bit. Typically we don\u2019t really care very much since the wall coverings hide the nails. Eventually though we inevitably remove or change the wall coverings exposing the nails, or nail holes in the walls.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Removing nails from walls and not damaging the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/homeadditionplus.com\/dev\/drywall\/drywall-repair-how-to-fix-sheetrock-holes-in-walls\/\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\">drywall<\/span><\/strong><\/a><\/span> in the process can be challenging, particularly when the nails are nailed into wall studs.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">However, I have a simple tip that can prevent you from damaging your walls as you pry out nails.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Simply use a small thin block of wood, preferably about \u00bc to \u00bd inch thick, and place it next to the nail to be removed. Then, using the claw end of your hammer, position the hammer so that the small block of wood becomes both your leverage surface and your wall protector, as you pry out the nail.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">After removing the nail from the wall, very gently tap on the nail hole with your hammer to flatten out the wall surface around the hole. Then fill the hole with spackle and wipe over the area with a slightly damp paper towel.
