Consequently I needed to make a small popcorn ceiling patch repair.<\/p>\n<p>I first used a putty knife to remove and flake off the loose popcorn ceiling material.<\/p>\n<table style=\"width: 100%;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"text-align: left;\" width=\"50%\"><em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Warning: If your home was built prior to 1979 do not attempt to remove the old popcorn ceiling material without first having the popcorn ceiling material tested for asbestos. Many popcorn ceiling materials made prior to 1979 used asbestos in the binding material. Asbestos can cause various respiratory problems, including lung cancer.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>After removing all of the old and loose popcorn ceiling I used my putty knife to apply popcorn ceiling patch and repair material. It really depends upon the color of your ceiling.
