For example, a grit-number of 60 means that the sand paper is very coarse and should be used for initial sanding on rough wood surfaces. And a grit-number of 300 means that the sand paper is very fine and should be used for final sanding on wood surfaces.<\/p>\n<table style=\"width: 100%;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"text-align: left;\" width=\"50%\">When sanding wood start off with coarser grit sandpaper, and sand with the grain of the wood.<\/p>\n<p>Then, as the wood becomes smoother feeling, use finer grit sandpaper, again sanding with the grain of the wood.
