Every year thousands of people experience major water damage at their vacation homes and cabins because they fail to winterize their plumbing pipes properly.<\/p>\n<table style=\"width: 100%;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"text-align: left;\" width=\"50%\">Winterizing plumbing pipes includes turning off the water supply to the home and draining the supply lines of any water. In addition, you need to pour one to two cups of a non-toxic antifreeze into each sink and shower\/tub drain. You also need to drain the toilet tanks of any water and pour non-toxic antifreeze into the toilet bowl and flush a couple of times.
