Over the years when I\u2019ve built home additions or remodeled basements I\u2019ve always wired speaker wire and speaker outlets in both the walls and ceilings. I always make sure to have a sense of where the media or home theater system could be located in the media room or renovated basement.<\/p>\n<p>I then run speaker wires from where the home theater electronics is expected to reside to the various locations in the room where the ceiling and in-wall speakers would most likely want to be located.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>When planning your ceiling and in-wall speaker system you also want to think about locating the speakers in non-conspicuous areas.<\/p>\n<table style=\"width: 100%;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"text-align: left;\" width=\"50%\">Ceiling mounted speakers are always a great solution. Likewise near floor level in-wall speaker mountings are also a great solution.<\/p>\n<p>Another item to consider when planning your in-wall speaker system is how many zones do you want to have? For example if your plans include in-wall speakers in many of the rooms of the home, you may want 2 or 3 speaker zones. Likewise if you have a very large room you may also want to have 2 or more zones. This way multiple sources can feed the different speaker zones.
