Donovan<br \/>\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\"><!-- google_ad_client = \"pub-3988490936633155\"; \/* Homepage_Home_Improvement_468x15_ATF, created 8\/13\/10 *\/ google_ad_slot = \"6539705898\"; google_ad_width = 468; google_ad_height = 15; \/\/-->\n<\/script><br \/>\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"http:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/show_ads.js\">\n<\/script><\/p>\n<div class=\"KonaBody\">\n<table style=\"width: 100%;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"50%\">\n<p align=\"center\"><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<!-- New_300x250_051317 --><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 300px; height: 250px;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-3988490936633155\" data-ad-slot=\"4202793463\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<td style=\"text-align: left;\" width=\"47%\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Several years ago I needed to make some improvements in my Bathroom, including replacing the linoleum flooring with ceramic tile. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Originally my wife had suggested the idea of installing ceramic tile in the bathroom, however, I was concerned on having to install an underlayment (such as 1\/4&#8243; plywood) as well as the ceramic tile. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Trying to cut all the jogs around the cabinet, closet, toilet and tub would have been extremely difficult. <\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">In addition, I was concerned about raising the bathroom floor 1\/2 inch in height.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">After a little investigation, I found to my surprise that laying tile over linoleum is possible.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">It turns out that installing ceramic tile over Linoleum, as long as you prepare the Linoleum floor first, and as long as the subfloor underneath the linoleum is stable.<\/span><\/p>\n<table style=\"width: 100%;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"text-align: left;\" width=\"50%\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Preparing Site for Laying Tile over Linoleum<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">To prepare laying tile over linoleum you first need to sink 1&#8243; to 1.5&#8243; screws or ring nails about 6 inches apart into the Linoleum to stabilize the surface for the tile. Nails should be on 6&#8243; centers from one another.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Installing Tile over Linoleum<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Once you have sunk in the screws \/ nails into the linoleum you are ready to lay tile over linoleum.<\/span><\/td>\n<td style=\"text-align: center;\" width=\"47%\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3183 \" src=\"http:\/\/homeadditionplus.com\/dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/viny_flooring.jpg\" alt=\"Tiling over Linoleum\" width=\"270\" height=\"202\" \/><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">To do so, use a standard mastic to secure the ceramic tile to the linoleum. Its that simple and my ceramic tile floor has stood the test of time.
