The situation was also exacerbated by the fact that there was no handle to grab onto to pull open\/close the garage door.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">So, I went down to my local home improvement center and bought a Chamberlain chain-driven 1\/2HP garage door opener.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"How to Install Garage Door Opener Quickly\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/JN53gCfWvsM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Due to the fact that the temperature inside and outside the garage was about ten degrees out, I decided to find every shortcut I could take to install the new garage door opener, without compromising safety or functionality with the garage door opener and garage door.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">So, what I basically did to install my new garage door opener quickly was to leverage what I could from the existing old garage door opener installation, such that I could reduce the number of steps in the new garage door opener installation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The specific time saving garage door installation steps I took included:<\/span><\/p>\n<table style=\"width: 100%;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 50%;\" width=\"50%\">\n<p align=\"center\"><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<!-- New_300x250_051317 --><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 300px; height: 250px;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-3988490936633155\" data-ad-slot=\"4202793463\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 1%;\" width=\"1%\"><\/td>\n<td style=\"text-align: left; width: 49%;\" width=\"49%\">\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Used the existing mounting brackets for the garage door opener motor.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Used the existing optical protector sensors and associated wiring, thus not having to mount sensor brackets and run new wire.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Likewise, I took advantage of the existing wiring for the garage door opener controller and simply swapped out the old garage door opener controller with the new one.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Utilized the existing brackets for where the garage door opener metal bar assembly attaches above the garage door and onto the garage door itself.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">By utilizing these old parts of the original garage door opener, I estimate that I saved about 2 to 3 hours of effort installing my new garage door opener. I based that estimate on the fact that I have personally installed at least 10 garage door openers in the past 15 years.
