The bigger issue is the loss of heat from the thin layer insulation. I actually did a short video talking about that concern.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">See my article\/video titled\u00a0 &#8220;<strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/homeadditionplus.com\/dev\/heating\/insulate-attic-heating-air-conditioning-ductwork-video\/\">Insulating Attic Heating and Air Conditioning Ductwork<\/a><\/span><\/strong>&#8220;.\u00a0 It believe it shows the concern you mention. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">What I ended up doing was wrapping the plenum and flex tubing with batt insulation. See pictures below.<\/span><\/p>\n<table style=\"width: 100%;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"text-align: left;\" width=\"50%\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">In regards to your condensation concern. The attic should have proper soffit and ridge vents\/gable end vents in it so that the air in the attic is cold and dry during the winter. During the summer months, where you are concerned about warm moist air coming in contact with a cool surface, e.g. the flex tubing, and causing condensation on the tubing, you won\u2019t see any. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">At least I never have seen any.
