With just a Philips screwdriver and a pair of needle nose pliers Mark shows you how to replace your old and pitted faceplate cover with a new one in less than five minutes.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<table style=\"width: 100%;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"text-align: left;\" width=\"50%\">\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">As part of the master bathroom remodel that we are doing, we decided to keep the Jacuzzi tub that is already in the bathroom, but just replace the bathtub fixture hardware that is used with it. Specifically, we replaced the faucet handles, spigot, and even the bathtub faceplate cover.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Replacing the bathtub faceplate cover was the easy and cheapest thing we did in the entire bathroom remodeling project. For about thirty dollars we were able to purchase a new bathtub faceplate cover.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Then, using a Philips screwdriver, I was able to remove the two bolts that held the old bathtub faceplate cover in place on the tub.<\/span><\/td>\n<td style=\"text-align: center;\" width=\"47%\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B003FYOJF0\/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=B003FYOJF0&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=wwwhomeadditi-20&amp;linkId=21622fca81289381466fcf67d36e454e\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/\/ws-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/widgets\/q?_encoding=UTF8&amp;MarketPlace=US&amp;ASIN=B003FYOJF0&amp;ServiceVersion=20070822&amp;ID=AsinImage&amp;WS=1&amp;Format=_SL250_&amp;tag=wwwhomeadditi-20\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none !important; margin: 0px !important;\" src=\"\/\/ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/e\/ir?t=wwwhomeadditi-20&amp;l=am2&amp;o=1&amp;a=B003FYOJF0\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" \/><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Next, I used a pair of needle nose pliers to open up the linkage that was connected to the old bathtub faceplate cover, and while holding firmly onto the linkage I attached the new bathtub faceplate cover to it. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">I then squeezed the linkage loop back together using the needle nose pliers, inserted the linkage back into the bathtub overflow hole, and fastened the replacement bathtub faceplate cover to the tub using a new pair of bolts. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Lastly, I toggled the lever associated with the bathtub faceplate cover to the closed position and filled the tub with a little water to see if the drain plug held the water. It did.
