In many cases you will wind up doing both.<\/p>\n<p>If your asphalt driveway has old oil stains and tire marks, you may have success cleaning your driveway with laundry detergent, a stiff broom and a bucket of water.<\/p>\n<p>For the troubled oil spots you may want to try baking soda or Trisodium Phosphate (TSP). Alternatively you can also try bleach on the troubled oil stain spots.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>If none of these standard household products work on removing old oil stains, you can also try commercial asphalt driveway cleaning products to remove oil stains from driveways.<\/p>\n<table style=\"width: 100%;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"text-align: left;\" width=\"50%\">Make sure, however, to use a cleaning product that is specifically made for asphalt driveways.<\/p>\n<p>Using a driveway cleaning product meant for concrete driveways could damage your asphalt driveway.<\/p>\n<p>If you cannot remove the oil stains and old tire marks from your asphalt driveway to your satisfaction, then you may want to apply an asphalt driveway sealer.
