An unvented crawl space is specifically designed to keep moisture out of the crawl space and heat in it.<\/p>\n<p>There are a number of pre-manufactured crawl space doors on the market today that are made out of plastic and steel, and that are available in a plethora of shapes and sizes.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>Many pre-manufactured crawl space doors include louvers so that they can be used in vented crawl space applications by simply removing the crawl space door cover during hot and humid conditions.<\/p>\n<table style=\"width: 100%;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"text-align: left;\" width=\"50%\">The advantage of using a pre-manufactured crawl space door is that they are resistant to mold and mildew growth, and won\u2019t rot. However, make sure when considering a pre-manufactured crawl space door to examine the hinge and latching hardware. Make sure that the hardware is also rust proof.<\/p>\n<p>Alternatively, you can also make your own crawl space door out of wood.
