WORX’s new SD SemiAutomatic Driver set is one slick tool. When you open the box and pick up this tool for the first time you’re not quite sure if you should shoot with it or use it to drive screws. Yes it’s that cool.

The cordless WORX SD SemiAutomatic Driver is a flexible driver that contains a rotating cartridge that supports up to 6 one inch long hex-shanked driver bits.

Simply pull back the magazine cover and rotate the cartridge to the desired driver bit. Then close the magazine cover and the selected driver bit extends out the front of the tool ready for use. The SemiAutomatic Driver is constructed out of nylon composite and has a rugged feel to it. Yet it only weighs in at 1 lb, making it easy to handle for extended periods of time or in difficult positions. The SD SemiAutomatic Driver comes with a battery charger, 2 cartridges, 11 bits, and one screw starter drill bit. Screwdriving bit types include: Phillips #0, #1, #2; Slotted #4, Hex #3, #4, #5mm; square recess #1, #2 and T10 and T20 Torx bits.

To use the SD SemiAutomatic Driver simply load a cartridge with the desired bits, slide back the magazine cover, and insert the bit cartridge into the tool. Again, rotate the cartridge to the desired driver bit, close the magazine cover, and its ready for use. What I really like about this driver tool is that there’s no more hassles searching for the right driver bit in the bottom of your tool box.

The SD SemiAutomatic Driver is powered by a 4V Lithium-Ion built in battery that can be fully charged in just 5 hours. Lithium-Ion batteries are capable of holding a charge up to 18 months so the WORX’s SD SemiAutomatic Driver is always ready for use. The SD driver has a ¼-in. chuck, and a no-load speed of 230 rpm with a maximum torque of 27 in.-lbs, making it ideal for a variety of household projects. The SD driver is ideal for applications such as hanging curtain rods and wall hangings, attaching door knobs, electrical box wiring, attaching electrical cover plates, workshop projects, and a host of other things.

Also, since one inch hex-shanked driver bits can be purchased at any hardware store or home improvement center you can replace bits as necessary. You can also customize a cartridge to your desired household projects.
