Pressure Tanks and Private Well Systems

How Pressure Tanks work in your Home’s Water Supply System

By Mark J. Donovan

Mark Donovan of HomeAdditionPlus.com discusses pressure tanks and private well systems in this video.

Pressure tanks provide three main functions. First they provide a constant water pressure to your home’s water supply. Second, they help to extend the life of the submersible well pump, and third they act as a water reservoir for your home.

Determining if your private well systems pressure tank has failed is as easy as a couple of taps on the top and bottom of the tank. If there is a deep thud sound both top and bottom, then a new pressure tank is in need.
