Flying in New England in a Cessna Skyhawk Video

A Montage of Aerial Photos and Video over New England’s New Hampshire and Maine States

By Mark J. Donovan

Over the past 12 months I’ve taken many aerial photos of New Hampshire and Maine while flying a Cessna 172 Skyhawk. In a few cases I also took some aerial photographs in Massachusetts on my way down to Orange, MA. In the video on this page I have put together a montage of my aerial photographs taken over the past year, along with a short video of me landing in Concord, New Hampshire (KCON). My father filmed the video landing. The background music you hear playing is a quick ditty that I put together and played on my Fender Stratocaster.

The aerial photos taken include views of the Sandwich Mountains and White Mountains in New Hampshire as well as Mount Monadnock in southwestern New Hampshire. You can also see Mount Washington rising above all of the other mountains in the White Mountains range.

Also included in the photos are pictures of Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire and Sebago Lake in Maine. There are also pictures of the Sandwich Mountains which are just north of Lake Winnipesaukee. If you look carefully you may see Castle in the Clouds in the Sandwich Mountains.

There are also various other pictures taken while flying from Concord, New Hampshire to Orange, Massachusetts and to Auburn/Lewiston, Maine. You’ll also see a photograph of a Constellation aircraft parked at the Auburn/Lewiston, Maine airport.

I also included several pictures of my old lake home and new lake home on Lake Winnipesaukee. The old lake home is situated to the right of the long jetty that extends outward into Lake Winnipesaukee.

Finally, the video wraps up with me landing a Cessna Skyhawk in Concord Municipal Airport (KCON) in Concord, New Hampshire. All the aerial photos taken were done at 3,000 to 5,500 feet.
