Wiring Combo Switch Outlet Video

Instructions on how to wire a Combo Switch Outlet

By Mark J. Donovan

In this video, Mark Donovan of HomeAdditionPlus.com, shows how to wire a combo switch outlet circuit.

A combo switch outlet circuit is commonly used in utility rooms and bathrooms.

A combo switch outlet can be wired to have the switch control both the outlet and a separate electrical appliance, such as an overhead light fixture.

In addition, a combo switch outlet can be wired to have the switch just control a separate electrical appliance, while leaving the outlet constantly powered.

Wiring a combo switch outlet can be a little complicated, however with this video in just a few minutes you should be able to learn the necessary skills to wire your own combination switch outlet circuit.

Warning: When working with electricity use extreme caution to avoid the risk of electrical shock. Make sure to first shut off power at the main circuit panel and then confirm all power to the electrical fixtures and boxes are off prior to beginning any work on them.
