How to Save on Winter Heating Bills!!
|
 |
Wow, what a
difference a few weeks can make. In mid September Oil was well over $100
per barrel and home heating costs were expected to be sky high this
winter. |
Now, oil is at $85 per
barrel (as of 10/11/08) and many people are wondering if they are even going
to still own a house, let alone heat it.
Though energy costs now
seem to be on a downward trend, they are still higher than last year and
energy conservation is always a good thing. To that end, I have included a
number of articles and videos in this month’s newsletter that focus on how
to save on home energy bills. Some of the tips are very basic such as
installing new door and window weatherstripping, however small items like
this can significantly cut down on your home’s heating bills.
Another area of home
improvement that is great to tackle this time of year is exterior painting.
With cooler temperatures and lower humidity, the fall season is a perfect
time to power wash and paint your house siding. See my article on
exterior house painting to learn a few house painting tips
to save time and to do it right.
Well good luck with your
fall home improvement projects and again if you have specific home
improvement questions feel free to visit the
